Scriptural Reference: Luke 13:1-9

After two weeks of lessons having to do with our own attitudes and behaviors—humility and reverence—this week, we are thinking about an essence belonging to God: patience. The gospel lesson includes the familiar but enigmatic parable of the fig tree. Both stories probe the nature of God.
How would you define patience, when it comes to God?
What is it about your life that you feel tests God in some way—that calls upon God to be patient with you? What does the reading compel you to want to do differently?
